Issue:
While trying to upgrade or install Windows 11, you receive the following message:
“This PC can’t run Windows 11. The PC must support TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot.”
Explanation:
Windows 11 has new system requirements, including Trusted Platform Module (TPM) version 2.0 and Secure Boot enabled in BIOS/UEFI. If your hardware supports them but they are turned off, the installation will fail.
Solution
Restart your PC and enter BIOS/UEFI:
Usually by pressing DEL, F2, or F10 right after powering on your PC (check your PC/laptop brand for exact key).
Enable TPM:
Go to the Security or Advanced tab.
Look for TPM, PTT (on Intel systems), or fTPM (on AMD systems).
Enable it.
Enable Secure Boot:
Go to the Boot tab.
Find the Secure Boot option and enable it.
Make sure Boot Mode is set to UEFI (not Legacy/CSM).
Save Changes & Exit BIOS:
Press F10 or use the Save & Exit option.
Retry the Windows 11 Installation:
Boot from the USB or use the upgrade tool again.
💡 Tip: Use Microsoft’s PC Health Check Tool to verify compatibility before installing.
